The Script Lab is a screenwriting consultation service/entertainment site that provides information and advice to film students and the general public. The site also provides film criticism, insightful articles and interviews with industry professionals.

First Ten Pages is a series of articles that discuss the importance of the beginning pages of a screenplay. My addition pertains to the film Sing Street and in the article I discuss the five major rules that need to be utilized. 

Script to Screen is a series of articles that pertain to the adaption process from screenplay to film. My addition is about the Charlie Kauffman film Synecdoche, New York. In the article, I chose a particular scene and discussed the differences and similarities between the screenplay and the movie.

Get Out is a horror film about a young African American man who gets wrapped up in a greater conspiracy when he visits his Caucasian girlfriend’s family. In this review, I praise the performances of the two leads and the filmmaking of the first time director Jordan Peele. I also compliment the well written and poignant social commentary.

The Lakelander is a newspaper produced by the students of Lakeland Community College since 1970.

This article is about a poem on Zen Buddhism and its numerous layers of complexity. I also discuss the background of its author Hakuin Ekaku and an overview of Buddhism.

This article is about the history of propaganda and how it is still being currently used. I focus on the propaganda used in ancient Rome because they used statues and thus offered excellent imagery to reflect with modern society. The theme behind this current issue is politics because of the heated presidential campaign. 

This article is a artistic criticism of Vincent Van Gogh’s less famous painting Starry Night Over the Rhone. In the critique, I discuss the background of the painting and how it precedes the much more famous Starry Night. I contrast both works and argue how the painting set the foundation for his next piece.
